On basis of sufficient research and summary on the current development status and existing problems of domestic and overseas scrap preheating system, TYMEC scrap preheating idea was presented for the first time after serious induction, summary and improvement, and applied to the electric arc furnace steelmaking system in steel plants. Many technical problems in scrap preheating system are accordingly thoroughly solved, such as: high cost due to large investment of equipment and workshop; heavy maintenance workload due to higher accident rate; low heat exchange efficiency and unsatisfactory preheating results etc, and have far-reaching significance on the development of the entire domestic scrap preheating technology.
The system makes full use of the physical & chemical waste heat of high temperature fume from electric arc furnace to preheat the steelmaking raw materials, and to achieve energy saving and  emission reduction by filtering and cooling high temperature fume and the productivity improved. Scrap preheating equipment can be equipped in old workshop via reconstruction or for newly-built steelmaking plants.
